It may not feel like it outside but the first official day of autumn is today, September 22nd. The fall equinox is a special time when day and night are the exact same length. Slowly the days will get shorter and shorter, but for now lets enjoy what many people believe to be the best time of year here on the coast! Ample sunshine and ample pumpkins. 10th anniversary party
One last shout out about our 10th anniversary party happening THIS SATURDAY at the San Mateo County School Farm! Please join us for an afternoon on the farm, bring your family and take a tour, go on a hike, enjoy some farm fresh snacks, games and live music! Looks like Saturday is going to be in the mid 70’s and full of sunshine, the perfect weather for a day on the farm. No need to RSVP, just show up!
THP is excited to be hosting 2 camps this fall at the San Mateo County School Farm. During our Explorers Camp (Oct 7, 9-1pm), children ages 5-7 will explore the farm, get their hands dirty, and taste some of the fresh fruits and veggies coming out of the field. Harvest Camp (Nov 21-22, 9-3pm) is for slightly older kids, ages 6-11. This camp is all about celebrating the bounty of the harvest season, campers will harvest fruits and veggies from the field and prepare some delicious dishes to feast on. The HEAL Project Kickstand: Bike parking at Pumpkin Festival
We all know the worst traffic of the year is during Pumpkin Fest. So why not beat the traffic and bike to the events? THP will be offering up bicycle parking in the Bike Works parking lot, 520 Kelly Avenue near Highway 1, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. both days (Oct 15th & 16th). Suggested donation is $5 per bicycle. Space is limited, there will be no in and out privileges so first come first served. Bikes left unclaimed after 5:30 p.m. will be charged a $50 overnight fee and unclaimed bikes will be donated to Puente. Hope to see you there!
